Donahue Cardiac Surgery and Felcyn Observation Unit - Jan 2019

The Timothy and Jayne Donahue Cardiac Surgery Program opened in January 2019 and includes two state-of-the-art operating suites, which allow Jupiter Medical Center to offer more advanced cardiac procedures and open-heart surgery. The Donahues made a $5 million lead gift to kick off Phase 1 of a larger Heart and Vascular Institute.

Thanks to the generosity of James and Louise Felcyn, the opening of the 18-bed James J. Felcyn and Louise Brien Felcyn Observation Unit coordinated with the cardiac surgery and comprehensive stroke programs. Inclusion of an observation as part of a larger medical center is considered a best practice, as it speeds up diagnosis and treatment for patients who require close monitoring and advanced testing.
