Cancer Care
Comprehensive Cancer Care for Our Community
Since opening in 2020, the Anderson Family Cancer Institute on the Crisp Cancer Campus at Jupiter Medical Center has served as the region’s premier destination for comprehensive cancer care.

Designed to bring world-class oncology services close to home, the Anderson Family Cancer Institute offers a full continuum of care within a healing, patient-centered environment.

Our 55,000-square-foot facility brings together surgical oncology, medical oncology, radiation oncology, advanced imaging, infusion therapy, genetic counseling, and supportive care under one roof. Accredited as a Comprehensive Community Cancer Program by the Commission on Cancer, the Anderson Family Cancer Institute reflects a level of clinical excellence typically found in the nation’s most prestigious academic cancer centers.

Each year, thousands of patients turn to Jupiter Medical Center for personalized care guided by leading-edge techniques and coordinated by a multidisciplinary team devoted to improving outcomes and quality of life.

The Power of Philanthropy

Philanthropy has shaped the Anderson Family Cancer Institute on the Crisp Cancer Campus since its inception. The center was created by visionary donors who shared Jupiter Medical Center’s mission to offer the most advanced, compassionate cancer care close to home.

As the demand for cancer services increases, Jupiter Medical Center is committed to expanding programs and resources that ensure patients receive expert care without delay. Key priorities for philanthropic investment include:

Palliative Care
Jupiter Medical Center is expanding palliative care to better serve patients facing cancer diagnosis. By relieving pain, managing symptoms, and addressing emotional and spiritual needs, we aim to enhance quality of life for patients and families. Our team will include a dedicated APRN and social worker, with additional support from Trustbridge Hospice Care, providing a full-time APRN and access to a board-certified hospice and palliative care physician. Patients will be referred by their oncologists to ensure timely care. With philanthropic support, this initiative will expand hospital-wide, delivering compassionate palliative care to more patients and families in our community.

Gastrointestinal Oncology Program Expansion
With pancreatic cancer projected to become the second leading cause of cancer-related deaths nationwide, timely access to expert evaluation and treatment is essential. To meet this growing need, we are actively expanding the program by recruiting additional gastrointestinal oncology specialists and creating a dedicated step-down unit for postoperative cancer patients.

Cancer Research and Clinical Trials
Jupiter Medical Center is currently offering access to 16 clinical trials that cover a range of cancers, including breast, lung, and gastrointestinal cancers. These studies aim to improve symptom management, enhance quality of life, and provide patients with treatment options that are not widely available.

Among these trials, Dr. Bhagwandin and Dr. Jon Du Bois are leading a study focused on pancreatic cancer: A Phase III Trial of Perioperative versus Adjuvant Chemotherapy for Resectable Pancreatic Cancer. This study examines the effectiveness of chemotherapy administered either before or after surgical resection to determine which approach produces better treatment outcomes. Philanthropic support fuels these research efforts, offering new hope to patients through discoveries that save lives.

Genetic Testing
Jupiter Medical Center recognizes the importance of timely hereditary cancer testing following a cancer diagnosis. Yet, many patients decline testing due to cost concerns or financial burdens related to cancer treatment.

Philanthropic support provides patients with access to genetic testing that provides essential information that can significantly influence their healthcare journey. With the support of our genetic counselors, social workers, and financial aid office, patients will receive assistance with genetic testing and copay coverage.
