The Power of Philanthropy
Philanthropy has shaped the Robson Heart & Vascular Institute from the very beginning—and continues to propel its growth, innovation, and impact. A transformative gift in 2018 named the Institute and established it as a premier destination for cardiovascular excellence in our region.
Since then, continued generosity has fueled remarkable expansion. Another major gift in 2017 created the Timothy and Jayne Donahue Cardiac Surgery Program, enabling Jupiter Medical Center to perform advanced cardiac procedures, including cardiac bypass, valve replacement and repairs, transcatheter aortic valve replacement, atrial fibrillation ablations, and open-heart surgery.
A gift from Hugh, Nancy, and Chad Elliott will create the Elliott Family Center for Cardiac Electrophysiology, which will double our capacity by expanding one Electrophysiology Lab into two. The Elliott Family Center will play a vital role within the Robson Heart & Vascular Institute, alongside the AFib Center of Excellence and our Structural Heart Program, strengthening our multidisciplinary approach to comprehensive cardiac care.

As the prevalence of atrial fibrillation continues to rise, so does the need for advanced, accessible care. At Jupiter Medical Center, the AFib Center of Excellence and the future Elliott Family Center for Cardiac Electrophysiology will help patients experiencing the unsettling, often unpredictable symptoms of an irregular heartbeat receive expert care close to home.
Central to this care are advanced electrophysiology (EP) studies and procedures, which allow physicians to precisely diagnose and treat complex heart rhythm disorders. Performed in a specialized EP Laboratory by board-certified cardiologists and electrophysiologists, these studies help identify the source of arrhythmias, evaluate medication effectiveness, determine candidacy for catheter ablation, and assess the need for pacemakers or implantable defibrillators. Using sophisticated mapping, monitoring, and recording technology, the EP Lab supports diagnosis and treatment for a wide range of conditions.
Demand for these life-changing services has grown rapidly, and in response, we are expanding the program. This expansion will allow our teams to perform more procedures, reduce wait times, and continue delivering timely, high-quality care to patients with heart rhythm disorders.
