JUPITER, Fla. – May 19, 2025 – On a beautiful spring day in April, Jupiter Medical Center (JMC) supporters gathered at the OK Corral Gun Club for the inaugural Sporting Clays Classic to pull together in support of innovation and advancement of urological care. The benefit event was hosted by Jupiter Medical Center Foundation one year after the nonprofit announced a significant donation to spur the creation of the Barb and Joe Charles Center for Urology. Presented by The Bov Foundation, the memorable day of camaraderie and philanthropy was a great success, and plans are already underway for the 2026 event.
Funds from the event are earmarked to support the Barb and Joe Charles Center for Urology, which was established to expand access to an extremely in-demand medical specialty. Led by Urology Medical Director Patrick O. Tenbrink, MD, a board-certified urologist, the center is working to recruit a multidisciplinary team of highly specialized physicians, including a urologic oncologist, and acquire additional state-of-the-art technology.
“At Jupiter Medical Center, we are dedicated to implementing the latest technological advancements and increasing access to high-quality health care in our region,” said Amit Rastogi, MD, MHCM, President and CEO of Jupiter Medical Center. “As we continued to forecast the needs of our community, it became clear that there is an increasing demand for high-quality urological care. We appreciate Barb and Joe Charles for their visionary leadership role in establishing this new area for our hospital, and we look forward to expanding this specialty for our region.”
Jupiter Medical Center’s urology care team offers preventative, diagnostic, management, and surgical care for patients of all ages with various urological conditions, including incontinence, benign prostate hyperplasia (BPH), pelvic floor dysfunction, kidney stones, undescended testis, interstitial cystitis and more. Earlier this year, JMC was the first in the region to offer the Nanoknife System, the first and only non-thermal, radiation-free, ablation treatment option for prostate cancer patients.
“The generosity and enthusiasm displayed by all participants and sponsors at our inaugural Sporting Clays Classic was truly inspiring,” said Traci Simonsen, Chief Philanthropy Officer for Jupiter Medical Center Foundation. “This event celebrated our success in establishing our urology center while also looking ahead to the future to ensure that we will continue to offer the latest advancements in this specialty.”
Simonsen then extended appreciation to the Sporting Clays Classic Committee members Glenn Anderson, Ryan Hobbie, Michael Pipkens, Tom Pledger Jr., and Matthew Wisehaupt.
Sponsors included The Bov Foundation, Black Diamond General Contracting, and Land Rover Palm Beach. Underwriters included Nancy and Phil Siegel in honor of JJW2H.org, Ferreira Construction, and the John Erbey Foundation. The Second Annual Sporting Clays Classic is scheduled for Friday, March 27, 2026, at the OK Corral Gun Club.
